What is a prefinished veneer laminate?
(Read on, it’s pretty simple).

A prefinished veneer laminate is kind of like a plastic laminate, except instead of a décor paper face, which you’d find in a laminate, the “face” of Treefrog is a real wood veneer, richer, warmer and more deeply textured. The real wood veneer is then coated with a matte or low gloss polyurethane topcoat.

The end result is a beautiful sheet of wood veneer that’s relatively easy to fabricate for design professionals. What’s more, Treefrog is made in Italy, and is manufactured to European workplace and environmental standards. It’s stocked in the USA by Treefrog and generally readily available through our nationwide distributor network.

Advantages of our real wood veneer:

Every sheet of Treefrog Veneer showcases the rich, soothing and timeless beauty of real wood. It’s not printed, it’s not plastic. It’s real. Place a sample of Treefrog next to a laminate that’s not real wood and see the dramatic difference.

Plus Treefrog offer consistent selection in design spaces of any size, which means that sheet after sheet will look the same, which is important in large spaces, and multi-location projects like retail stores, restaurant chains, hotel rooms, cabinetry and anyplace where consistency in appearance is important.

Our unique process uses faster growing, and more commonly occurring tree species to create the look of more exotic and sometimes endangered tree species without having to harvest those trees. All wood used is of certified origin, and FSC® custom options are available. 4’ x 8’ and 4’ x 10’ size, depending on item.

Advantages of laminate backer

Fabricators familiar with applying laminate already know how to work with Treefrog. The laminate backer helps ensure proper adhesion and a successful installation. Treefrog comes  with a protective mask that is removed after fabrication.

Advantages of prefinished veneer

Treefrog is pre-finished, the topcoat is applied in a controlled manufacturing environment. No doubts or worries about how the wood will look when finish is applied. It already is. What you see is what you get. A consistently beautiful, oftentimes breathtaking sheet of real wood that applies as easily as a laminate. Plus, choosing a prefinished material can help control labor costs of fabrication.
